I am currently majoring in Turfgrass Science at Penn State University and one option is a specialized major to become a golf course superintendent. What is the job market like for golf course superintendents? What is the starting pay like?

I’m heading to Philadelphia for the weekend and want to squeeze in a round of golf on Sunday. It’s been raining for the last few days, but it’s supposed to be mostly sunny on Sunday with a high around 84. I’m going to get a later tee time in hopes of the course drying up, but what type of course is best to play after rain? A wooded course (water isn’t able to gather)? A wide open course (more sun could allow the course to dry faster)? If anybody is from the Philadelphia area, do you have any specific suggestions?

I own a par 3 course and would like suggestions on how it can make money in the winter. Our golf season is from late April until late October. What can we do in the winter to make a profit? We have plenty of land and a small clubhouse. Be creative.

I live on a golf course and purchased a golf cart to use on it. When I called to ask if I have to pay a trail fee or something like it, they said they dont allow private carts. I know for a fact that other people on the course use their own carts. Do I have a right to do the same as others?

My fiancé and I are planning an outdoor wedding at a golf course, but I’m a little worried about the date. We are planning to have our wedding on the Sunday before Labor Day.
How late do golfers typically stay out playing during the summer? Our ceremony is set for 5:30pm. Will the amount have dwindled down by then?
And generally, will it be extra crowded on the Sunday before Labor Day because of the holiday weekend?

I have only practiced at the shooting range and I have never stepped foot on a golf course. How do you know where to start and how do you know what hole to advance to next?
